A New Meme Has All Of Twitter Talking About Hot Dads
The Hot Dad is back!
To say that the Hot Dad is back in vogue is to erroneously imply that the Hot Dad has ever gone out of fashion.
In fact, as long as human beings have been horny, we have lusted after the Hot Dad. Cavemen drew rudimentary pictures of the Hot Dad on their stone walls. Disputes over the Hot Dad kicked off several minor skirmishes in the 16th century. Even Fyodor Dostoyevsky, himself arguably a Hot Dad, wrote one of the defining works of Western literature, The Brothers Karamazov, about a Hot — and conflicted — Dad.
But it’s certainly true that the Hot Dad is having a renewed burst of interest, with the glut of celebrity Hot Dads only increasing attention in the phenomena. And now, riding off that wave of cologne-wearing, silver stubbly dads, comes a new Twitter meme, courtesy of some good old mid-life crisis career redirection.
The meme was kicked off when a young Twitter user posted a photo of his father, who had decided at the tender age of 45 to live his truth as a model.
My dad is 45, pursuing a modeling career, and I’ve never seen him happier. He told me he’s just waiting for a chance to blow up. So, Twitter, meet my dad. pic.twitter.com/zYSmZGbPCn

The tweet gained considerable traction (not to mention a bevy of thirsty replies). But before long, its format also began inspiring a range of copycat tweets, and lo and behold a new — and distinctly horny — meme was born.

Needless to say, this is not one of Twitter’s more nuanced memes. It is, at most, a savvy attempt to up the quotient of hot silver foxes appearing on the timeline — a way of turning one young lad’s bout of internet opportunism (he’s already tagged Ellen DeGeneres in the comments, a la that nugget kid) into some much-needed libidinous release.
But in its simple, unabashed horniness, the meme should serve as a reminder of what we can all achieve when we join forces, lay aside our considerable differences, and agree to lust after the archetypal Hot Dad together.
