We live in uncertain times. The global pandemic has thrown the world into chaos, and each day a parade of politicians appears on our television to tell us life will be returning to normal, well, at some time that nobody can actually specify. Then there’s the matter of X Æ A-12.

If you somehow missed the sheer melange of news stories pouring forth from every outlet on Earth this week — including this one — Elon Musk and Grimes decided to name their child X Æ A-12. Hours after the announcement, Grimes took to her own Twitter to explain the name. But it was one of those ‘explanations’ that only makes things more confusing, a string of nonsense words that Musk himself later had to jump into in order to correct.

Basically, it’s the kind of news story that can make your brain leak out of your ears like porridge even if you do understand the context, let alone if you need a primer on who Grimes actually is before you can dive into any of this.

To that end, those fine folks over at The Feed have skewered the chaos pouring out of every corner of the internet, with a sketch depicting a poor sucker at their therapist trying to get to the bottom of the name choice.

“Let me tell you this truth,” Jenna Owen says in character as a mind-melted punter. “A and E? Not friends. Not friends at the best of times in a name. And then you’ve gone and fused them together in this disgusting letter mutant.”

The whole sketch is just wonderful, another home-run from those over at The Feed, and should be particularly enjoyed by anyone who comes out in hives at the mere mention of Musk’s name. Or the “space freak”, as he is referred to in the sketch.
