Watch This Perfect Metal Marriage Proposal From Good Things In Melbourne & Believe In Love Again
A couple have gotten engaged at the Melbourne leg of punk/hardcore festival, Good Things, and it's perfect.
A couple got engaged at Good Things festival in Melbourne on Friday and it’s a perfectly pure metal moment.
In the video originally posted to Facebook by alternative music publication Wall of Sound, then reshared by the festival, a leather jacket-wearing punter is seen getting down on one knee during Boston metalcore act Ice Nine Kills’ lunchtime set.
His future wife nods yes enthusiastically, hands over her mouth in shock. Her hand is literally shaking as her beau tries to put her ring on. It’s deeply wholesome content β especially the moment when the song’s breakdown kicks in and the mosh starts again around them.

Also MVP here, the guy holding people back, trying to keep one eye on both the proposal and the stage, and crying “YES!!!” when she accepts.
At the end of the video, the future groom unbuttons his shirt to reveal a tee, but the video cuts out. The festival set the record straight yesterday. The shirt reads, “She said yes (about time I asked)”.
The festival offered their congratulations on the day:Β “This is truly a Good Thing! Congratulations to the newly engaged coupleΒ πππ”
The reaction to the moment has been overwhelmingly positive, with people commenting, “Bless his cotton socks,” and “I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!”
Friends of the couple have tagged them in both posts and offered their own excited well wishes. Yesterday the happy groom, James, posted a pic with his partner Cass in each thread.
After the Sydney event on Saturday, Good Things festival continues in Brisbane today, with headliners Parkway Drive, A Day to Remember and Violent Soho, Simple Plan and The Veronicas.
The Veronicas have orchestrated a ‘wall of death’ at each of their Good Things sets for a reworked, punk ‘Untouched’. See for yourself, and, if you’re heading along in Brissie, get involved:
