Perth band Good Doogs have cancelled their upcoming national tour following allegations of sexual misconduct against drummer and manager Michael Grainger.

In a statement on their Facebook page on Wednesday, the group confirmed that Grainger had left the band in order to “get to the bottom of these serious allegations”.

The statement also alluded to allegations made against vocalist Asher James, but insisted they were “merely rumours”.

“In regards to the other apparent allegations that have been made public about our vocalist, we know and have proof that they are misinformed,” the statement read.

The band stressed it did not wish “to silence any victims of sexual or emotional abuse”, and that as a result of the allegations, “we will be taking some time to reflect on what has happened and work out how to best move forward”.

“We will unfortunately be pulling out of our upcoming tour and any festivals including Falls Festival, Festival Of The Sun, Stonefest, and Here Comes The Sun, and Yours and Owls,” Good Doogs added. Read the full statement below.

Good Doogs Statement

We’ve been informed of some serious allegations against members of the band and have been sifting through the online groups and stories over the past few days to get to the bottom of it.

This is in no way a statement to silence any victims of sexual or emotional abuse.
We in no way condone any of the allegations of unwanted sexual attention that have been screen-shotted and shared online.

As a result of these allegations our drummer/manager is no longer in the band or managing the band in any sense. He needs to get to the bottom of these serious allegations and is speaking to authorities to take the correct avenues for all people involved.

In regards to the other apparent allegations that have been made public about our vocalist, we know and have proof that they are misinformed, and are merely rumours that have spread.

As a result of losing our Manager/drummer we will be taking some time to reflect on what has happened and work out how to best move forward, so we will unfortunately be pulling out of our upcoming tour and any festivals including Falls Festival, Festival Of The Sun, Stonefest, and Here Comes The Sun, and Yours and Owls.

We are truly sorry to anyone who has been hurt by this, and hope after the remaining members have some time to reflect and regroup, we can continue to make and play music for you in the future.
