Watch A Liberal Senator Get Absolutely Dunked On For Spreading Bullshit Anti-Vax Conspiracies

Controversial Liberal Senator Gerard Rennick has had his anti-vax nonsense shut down by the chair of the government’s COVID inquiry Katy Gallagher and honestly, it’s about time.

Rennick, who has made a name for himself for sharing anti-vaccine content on social media, made outlandish and unfounded claims that COVID-19 vaccines are “experimenting” on children. His comment comes after the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved COVID vaccines for kids ages 5-11.

The claim was immediately shut down by TGA head John Skerritt, who rejected the assertion that COVID-19 was “nothing much” for children.

“I reject the assertion that it’s nothing much for kids and doesn’t matter if they catch [COVID],” Skerritt said.

While multiple people rejected Rennick’s claims, no one was quite as visibly frustrated as Gallagher, whose own daughter was infected with COVID-19 earlier this year. “Okay, Senator Rennick, that has been quite the journey. No further questions from you? Did you want to withdraw the allegation that we’re conducting experiments on Australia’s children?” Gallagher asked.

Rennick refused to withdraw the comments but clarified that he asserted it was America that is conducting experiments (not true), not us.

“Well maybe you need to talk to a few parents who have watched their kids struggle to breathe with COVID, to understand the value of a vaccination program,” she replied. “Give me a call, Senator Rennick, and I’ll let you know what it’s like.

“I guarantee I would’ve done anything to get my kid vaccinated, rather than get COVID-19.”

Gallagher asserted that talking to these parents, like herself, would probably “be more useful than some of the websites [Rennick’s] reposting.”

Rennick replied that the comment was “not becoming of a chair,” which prompted perhaps the most iconic clap back in recent political history.

“Well, I don’t think it’s becoming of a member of the government to run the lines that you have been running in this hearing. And I think it’s deadly serious and you’ve got responsibilities which you’re not observing, to be honest,” Gallagher replied.

Throughout the lengthy Senate inquiry, Rennick also butted heads with Chief Medical Officer Paul Kelly, who — understandably — shut down his ridiculous claims.

Rennick is one of multiple politicians who have repeatedly undermined the nation’s COVID-19 response by spreading harmful anti-vaccine conspiracy theories on social media. It goes without saying that none of the anti-vaccine claims made by Rennick during the hearing, or ever, are scientifically proven or based in fact.
