Two of the most beautiful sights in the world are easily crystals that are created by Earth, and a fresh piece of crunchy fried chicken made by Colonel Sanders himself. But what if I told you a magical creation exists where the two have actually been combined?

Well, look no further because the Fried Chicken Crystal™️ is real and, naturally, everyone wants to chomp down on it.

The inedible chicken tender beauty belongs to Amelia Rude, a gemstone jeweller, who uploaded it to the r/ForbiddenSnacks subreddit before it was picked up by @fartpowder and thrown to the hungry KFC-loving people on Twitter with the caption: “CRYSTAL THAT LOOKS LIKE CHICKEN TENDER ALERT”.

The chicken tender crystal immediately went viral as people shared their desire to simply shatter their teeth for a mere taste of the majestic rock — which is a calcium carbonate cluster of calcite and aragonite, according to Amelia.

Chatting to UniLad, Amelia explained that crystals looking like food isn’t uncommon. “Lots of crystals look surprisingly edible, but I can’t say I’ve ever seen such a convincing chicken tender before,” Amelia shared. “Slices of rhodochrosite can look like like both ham and grapefruit, and dark pink rose quartz plays a good raw meat.”

But Twitter was already one step ahead of her, sharing their other favourite food crystals from cheesecake to potatoes to slabs of meat.

However, even with all the new inedible additions, everyone was still just stuck on the beauty of the fried chicken crystal and used the opportunity to talk about how badly they wanted to eat it.

But, while very delicious-looking, Amelia understandably refuses to part ways with her fried chicken crystal.

She does recommend that if anyone were searching for one similar that they look for calcite from Mexico, which is where “most chicken-like specimens come from”. Otherwise, you could literally just head to KFC and pick up a real chicken tender and chow down on that.

Now if you excuse me, I’ll just be here patiently waiting for a chicken tender crystal-inspired Uncut Gems sequel starring Guy Fieri.
