Flume Just Sold A Million Copies Of His Single In The US!

Flume has many reasons to be happy, but he’s just gained another one: his stratospheric hit Never Be Like You feat. Kai has just been certified platinum in the US.

It’s definitely not the first platinum record for Flume – Never Be Like You is already triple platinum in Australia – but it’s the first one chalked up in the US, which is a pretty big deal. Platinum certification requires a sale of at least one million units; streaming also counts, with 100 streams equating to one unit. The song is currently sitting at 181 million Spotify streams and 35 million YouTube plays, and was recently given a house remix by Parisian producer Martin Solveig.

“I just wanted to say thank you,” Flume, who is currently in LA, posted on Facebook earlier today. “It’s the first time I have ever had a platinum record in the states and it’s a very surreal feeling.” Check out the full Facebook post below.

It’s been a pretty great few months for Flume, who came off a huge European tour to come home and and play a stunning headline set at last month’s Splendour.
