Good news, rock fans: emo icons Fall Out Boy and Chicago’s Rise Against will both hit Australia for huge national tours early next year.

It’s the first time we’ve seen Fall Out Boy since their jaunt across the country with Soundwave back in 2015, and this time around they’ve locked in four all-ages shows — starting in Brisbane in late February, before moving through Sydney, Melbourne and Perth (sorry, Adelaide).

Apart from airing their huge catalogue of hits including ‘Thnks Fr Th Mmrs’ and ‘Sugar, We’re Going Down’, they’ll be coming armed with their new record Mania, due out September 15. They’ll be supported at all dates by Brisbane punk outfit WAAX.

Rise Against are also bringing a new record: their eighth album Wolves, which hit shelves at the start of June. They’ll play five arena shows across the country in February, and they’ve flagged that if you’re planning on being a dickhead at any of them, you can fuck right off:

“In many ways, a Rise Against show is a safe space for our fans,” said singer Tim McIlrath.

“But I realised… I want to create dangerous spaces where misogyny can’t exist, where xenophobia can’t exist. I want to create spaces where those sentiments don’t have any air, and they suffocate: where those ideas die. Wolves isn’t about creating a safe space, it’s about creating a space that’s dangerous for injustice.”
