Over the weekend, Donald Trump held a disastrous rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma. You might have heard something about that, on account of the fact that ever since, the internet has been awash with people taking the piss.

Showing off his characteristic blatant disregard for common sense, Trump organised for a large-scale rally to be held in the middle of a pandemic. While he was being pilloried for this unsafe decision, the President kept braying that the sheer number of people reserving seats proved that his choice was the right and smart one.

As it turned out, those numbers were being inflated by TikTok teens and K-pop stans. When the day of the rally finally rolled around, a mere fraction of the potential attendees rocked up. The President was a laughing stock.

He was particularly mocked on Twitter, where users compared the President’s crowd numbers with those amassed by pop acts and celebrities.

Which is where The Wiggles come in.

See, when a Wiggles stan on Twitter compared the size of the President’s rally with a crowd assembled to hear ‘Fruit Salad’, Anthony Field — the Blue Wiggle himself — decided to get involved.

The burn was so vicious that it prompted a wave of Wiggles memes, and even caused the Wiggles to trend under politics, which amused Field to no end.

Truly 2020 is the year of ‘Fruit Salad’.
