DJs, they’re just like us. Despite being one of the world’s biggest producers, Diplo is being ghosted by Travis Scott, and has taken to Instagram to vent and share his sad one-way message history.

Accompanying a picture of him and Scott, Diplo writes in the caption that the rapper approached him at a festival saying they should make another song. The two previously collaborated together for Major Lazer’s 2017 song ‘Know No Better’, also with Quavo and Camila Cabello.

Diplo explains that he then asked for Scott’s “new number”, and… that’s where things got a little awkward.

“Adds number,” Diplo writes, “texts him next day ‘this is Diplo’, notices the number was saved and I already sent desperate looking texts to the same number fifteen times over five years.”

Damn. Using Instagram’s carousel option, he shared a screenshot of select messages, and it seems like even Diplo isn’t immune to getting a little needy/oblivious when ghosted. Find them below, but our favourites are: “It’s diplo think something might be wrong with my texts…hit me back”, and the always classic, “are u mad at me”.

Scott has not responded publicly yet. Ice cold.

On the plus side, we have an answer to the eternal question: What Would Diplo Do?. Keep sending messages, apparently.

Hopefully it’ll all be resolved by September, when the producer returns to Australia to play Listen Out. If not, maybe we can expect a down-tempo remix of Jack Ü’s ‘Where Are Ü Now?’.
