Courtney Barnett Repped A Midnight Oil Shirt And Friggin’ Killed It On ‘Colbert’ Last Night

Way better ambassador to the US than Joe Hockey, just quietly.

Courtney Barnett’s had a pretty good 2016 so far. She went to the Grammys for the first time with a nomination as Best New Artist, she’s touring a bunch of Aussie pubs as part of the Milk! Records Good For You tour next month, and her new song ‘Three Packs a Day’ is an ode to instant mi goreng, which is fucking grouse.

Now she’s capped off her time in the US with a gig on Stephen Colbert’s Late Show, one of the most prized music slots on American TV. Her critically acclaimed album Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit made a number of Best of 2015 lists in the US, and is getting increasing mainstream attention thanks to appearances like this.

Performing certified banger ‘No One Cares If You Don’t Go To The Party’, Barnett even repped a Midnight Oil t-shirt — not as excellent as the times she gave shout-outs to Smudge or Dick Diver, but a pretty solid choice for a US audience nonetheless.
