The coronavirus pandemic is proving a substantial disruption to normal proceedings around the globe.

In Australia, the Sydney Writers’ Festival, Vivid, and possibly the Easter Show have all been cancelled. Music festivals are falling like dominos, as are sporting events.

Basically, everything’s been thrown into flux by the illness. It’s a strange, liminal time, where nothing can be taken for granted anymore.

But there is one person who’s not interested in letting coronavirus change his way of life, and it’s this jolly legend who was interviewed about the mandatory 14-day isolation period for travellers while he was waiting outside an airport.

“So what do you think about the isolation?” the journalist asks him.

“Yeah, just gonna lock myself in and punch some cones for a couple of days,” the viral hero announces to camera, much to the dismay of his friend and/or partner, standing nearby.

“[Now] it’ll become viral,” the irritated accomplice says, throwing her hand up to her forehead.

Basically, the whole thing is a work of great and true art, and exactly the kind of uplifting watch that we all need in these strange new times.
