Few movies split people’s opinions like Richard Curtis’ Love Actually. To some it’s a rom-com classic and mandatory holiday viewing. To others, it’s a sexist, sickly-sweet waste of one of the greatest British casts ever assembled outside of a Harry Potter flick. In any case, no matter how you feel about the film, it’s basically impossible to make it through the month of December without stumbling across a fresh batch of think pieces about how it’s actually a masterpiece or a total piece of shit.

Here’s Everything The Internet Has Ever Written About Why ‘Love Actually’ Is A Terrible Film

Given how deeply the film has seeped into popular culture, it’s hardly surprising that the people who helped finance it are keen to make another one. Speaking to The Independent as part of a press junket for Bridget Jones’s Baby, Working Title co-chairman Eric Fellner said that “we’d love to do another Love Actually,” although said it all depended on whether Curtis was interested in writing the script.

The paper then put the idea of a sequel to actor Colin Firth, who said the thought “sent a shiver down [his] spine.”

“Would it need to be the same people? I don’t know,” Firth pondered. He then shrugged before saying “yeah, why not? I’ll take whatever comes. Just send me a good script and if the people are there…”

Look, it’s not exactly a ringing endorsement, but the important thing is that he didn’t explicitly rule it out, which as we all know is basically the same thing as confirming that it is 100 per cent definitely going to happen for sure.
