Tributes continue to flow in from colleagues and celebrities alike after the shock announcement of Chadwick Boseman’s death. 

 

There was an outpouring of grief by fans yesterday after the shock announcement of Chadwick Boseman’s death at only 43-years-old. But it’s obvious that Boseman not only made an impact on movie fans, he made an impact on everyone who knew him.

Since the news, tributes have been flowing in from his Marvel colleagues and other celebrities, wanting to share what made him so special.

Brie Larson spoke of his generosity and kindness.

Tom Holland shared a beautiful photo of Boseman visiting kids in hospital.

Angela Bassett, who played Boseman’s mother in Black Panther, shared an extremely touching story about their connection.

“It was meant to be for Chadwick and me to be connected, for us to be family. But what many don’t know is our story began long before his historic turn as Black Panther. During the premiere party for Black Panther, Chadwick reminded me of something. He whispered that when I received my honorary degree from Howard University, his alma mater, he was the student assigned to escort me that day. And here we were, years later as friends and colleagues, enjoying the most glorious night ever! We’d spent weeks prepping, working, sitting next to each other every morning in makeup chairs, preparing for the day together as mother and son. I am honored that we enjoyed that full circle experience. This young man’s dedication was awe-inspiring, his smile contagious, his talent unreal. So I pay tribute to a beautiful spirit, a consummate artist, a soulful brother…”thou aren’t not dead but flown afar…”. All you possessed, Chadwick, you freely gave. And Zoe Saldana said she would tell her sons about him forever.

Many other celebrity friends and fans of Boseman also spoke out, including Oprah, The Rock, and Obama.

F1’s only black driver, Lewis Hamilton, celebrated a new track record at the Belgian Grand Prix qualifying session by paying tribute to Boseman – doing the “Wakanda Forever” salute on top of his car.

And to show the kind of person he was, actor Josh Gad shared a beautiful text he had received from Boseman during quarantine.
