A Céline Dion superfan has legally changed his name to hers after having “one too many vinos” during London’s Tier 4 lockdowns — and he’s keeping it.

Dion, formerly known as Thomas Dodd, posted on Twitter on New Year’s Eve that he was surprised to receive some forms in the mail, which would legally change his name to match that of the 52-year-old singer.

He didn’t remember applying to change his name online, and told the NY Post that he must have done so after watching one of Dion’s concert films alone on Christmas Eve while drinking a magnum of champagne — it’s almost relatable.

“I honestly, hand on heart, don’t remember doing it!” he told the tabloid. “I remember watching the concert and remember getting rather tipsy.”

“I wasn’t aware I had done it until I found that envelope in my post. Initially, I had to sit down as I couldn’t believe it — so I then checked my bank which confirmed it all.”

Dion, FKA Dodd, then decided to go for it, and signed away his name officially.

The true Dion has not yet responded, but the new Dion admits that he could imagine changing his name back if he ‘thinks twice’ and realises it will be little difficult to be Mr. Céline Dion.

For now, he’s saying ‘I Surrender’ to his new identity, and is hoping that he will get the chance to meet this name-sake.

Follow along on Twitter, where Dodd — sorry, Dion — is teasing something ‘big’ tomorrow.
