In Case You Missed It, Dev Patel Brought His Mum To The Oscars Because He Is A Perfect Human
What a guy.
Yesterday was Oscar night and damn what a night it was. Viola Davis and Mahershala Ali both took home statues (yay!), Casey Affleck pipped Denzel Washington (boo!) and Jimmy Kimmel made some jokes (eh).
Also that other thing happened.
Still, I think we can all agree that the real winner of the Oscars was Lion star/your imaginary boyfriend Dev Patel, who brought his mum, Anita, as his plus one to the ceremony because that’s just how much of a great guy he is.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Dev explained his choice of date by saying that Lion “is a film about mothers and sons and their love.” Can I just say, on behalf of people who have mothers, Dev you are making us all look terrible please stop.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, the actor was also photographed with who I can only assume is his best friend, Andrew Garfield.

And here he is just looking incredibly happy when Jimmy Kimmel lifted up Sunny Pawar like they were in The Lion King. That was kind of a weird moment, but somehow Dev is making me feel a lot better about it.
