Round The Twist is the greatest Australian TV show of all time. This is both my personal opinion and an indisputable, Junkee-proven fact (ok it came 13th but whatever I was too young for Secret Life Of Us).

But since the show went off the air in 2001, we’ve heard nothing from the gang. Nothing from Linda, Pete, or even mean old Mr Gribble.

“Gimme ya lighthouse or I’ll literally kidnap ya gran!”

That is until yesterday, when former Bronson-actor Mathew Waters made an appearance on Channel 7’s The Morning Show.

Waters, the third Bronson, is apparently now a 28-year-old beautiful viking man who’s spent the last six years working across both stage and screen in the UK. He is also now married and has a very good dog.

Thankfully, Waters has not forgetten his roots:

Round The Twist is what launched my career,” Waters said. “I wouldn’t change it for a thing.”

“I used to watch it when I was a kid and watched Jeffrey Walker play Bronson – and never did I ever think that I’d be on it.”

Fans will remember that most Round The Twist characters were ultimately revealed to be descendants of vikings in that episode they went through time and accidentally killed their parents or whatever, so this has nicely come full circle.

It’s also given us a good excuse to listen to *that* song again. Everybody sing along…
