Britney Spears Is Engaged To Her Boyfriend Of Almost Five Years, And Everyone Is Crying

In some proof that the world isn’t all doom and gloom, Britney Spears has excitedly announced that she’s now finally engaged to her long-time boyfriend.
Absolutely derailing the VMA’s, Spears posted an Instagram Reel this morning with her now-fiancé Sam Asghari, to show off her huge ring. Spears added the caption “I can’t fucking believe it!!!!!!” and paired it with a number of ring and heart emojis.
Similarly, over on his own page, Asghari hinted at the big announcement on his Instagram story by saying “biggest news….. can’t wait to share” before uploading a photo of the ring himself 30 minutes later.

Britney Spears and Sam Asghari first met in 2016 on set for the ‘Slumber Party’ music video, and have been together for almost five years. Last week, Asghari actually uploaded and then quickly deleted a photo of the engagement ring he gave to Spears, which had the word ‘lioness’ engraved into it — a nickname and emoji he’s often used for the singer.
In response to the slip-up, the personal trainer claimed that his account had been “hacked” and that the image was “photoshopped”. But, thankfully, we now know this was just a bad lie.
Their engagement comes just days after her father, Jamie Spears, announced he was willing to step down as conservator and actually petitioned for the singer’s conservatorship to end in court.
Britney Spears spoke out against her 13-year conservatorship earlier this year in an explosive and harrowing court statement that revealed that the singer wanted to be “able to get married and have a baby” for a long time but hasn’t been allowed to. “I have an IUD in my body right now that won’t let me have a baby and my conservators won’t let me go to the doctor to take it out,” Spears said back in June. “I wanna be able to get married and have a baby.”
“This conservatorship is doing me way more harm than good. I deserve to have a life!”
But now that one of her wishes has finally come true, we can only hope that this spells the downfall of the conservatorship that has had Spears in a chokehold for over a decade.
And because Asghari has been such a vocal supporter of the #FreeBritney movement, and has not been afraid to call Jamie Spears a “dick” for his role in the conservatorship, I’m sure he’ll have no qualms with signing a prenup to prevent anything happening to Britney Spears’ funds ever again.
