So Here We Are: thirteen years after it was released, Bloc Party are touring Australia for a series of concerts where they play through 2005 debut album, Silent Alarm.

While you can split most Bloc Party fans down the centre by asking whether Silent Alarm or sophomore record A Weekend In The City, it’s now clear the band has a favourite. On nostalgia alone, their debut’s hard to go past: singles like ‘Helicopter’, ‘She’s Hearing Voices’ and ‘Like Eating Glass’ shaped the mid 2000s era of Indie Brit-rock.

In fact, the only thing that’ll seperate the set from 2005 is the band’s line-up. While Gordon Moakes’ bass lines and Matt Tong’s drumming smash through Silent Alarm, they left the band a few years back — joining founding members Kele Okereke and Russell Lissack are Justin Harris and Louise Bartle. They’ll be well-attuned to the album by the time they arrive — they’ll have just finished a mini Silent Alarm tour in Europe.

Bloc Party will be heading to Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane this November and December. Tickets are on sale from 10am Monday July 2 local time, with a presale available from Friday 29 June — head here for more info.
