Fyre Festival fraudster Billy McFarland has recorded a podcast from prison called Dumpster Fyre, in which he promises to tell his story about the infamous 2017 disaster festival.

McFarland is currently serving a six year jail sentence in Ohio, after admitting to multiple accounts of wire fraud over Fyre Festival — the disastrous music festival ‘held’ in the Bahamas back in 2017. Advertised as a private party with Kendall Jenner and the Hadids, it was, in reality, a Lord Of The Flies clusterfuck of little resources, featuring none of the advertised acts and no plan.

It’s been immortalised already with two separate documentaries, Netflix’s Fyre and Hulu doco Fyre Fraud, both of which detailed how McFarland is a natural grifter — he was even scamming by selling fake tickets to events while he was out on bail over Fyre. While his Fyre business partner Ja Rule evaded criminal charges after claiming he “too was hustled, scammed, bamboozled, hood winked, lead astray!!!”, McFarland is two years into his six-year sentence and seemingly bored.

Enter Dumpster Fyre, a collaboration with podcast network Notorious, reportedly recorded in a week, using McFarland’s daily allotted 15-minutes phone time. The first episode is slated to drop today: in a clip Daily Mail reports to have obtained early, McFarland promises to not shy away from his mistakes.

He also says he had a deep need to tell his story. “I just really need to start from the beginning and go through every step and just kind-of keep it raw and centred and not have an agenda for what’s being told,” he says.

The podcast’s profits will go towards paying off the $26 million McFarland owes.

There’s also actually another podcast already called Dumpster Fyre, too. Festival attendee Seth Crossno last year teased an upcoming ‘insider story’ podcast, but has not yet released any episodes. You could say he’s been out-hustled, bamboozled and hoodwinked.

McFarland has previously said he’s writing a memoir called Prometheus: The God Of Fyre, but he does have a tendency to promise and under-deliver. In the meantime, listen to the teaser of Dumpster Fyre below.
