If, like us, you’re currently stuck with a Hottest 100 long list of 87 tracks and have absolutely no idea how to whittle them down to a top ten, this might help you out.

A stack of local acts have just revealed their own Hottest 100 votes to triple j, with their selections ranging from the biggest pop and rap tracks of the year to songs that may have flown under your radar.

Amy Shark named Lorde’s ‘Liability’ as her #1 track of the year, while the rest of her top ten featured entries from Post Malone, Future, and Lana Del Rey. Canberra party starters Peking Duk chose Cloud Control’s ‘Rainbow City’ as their top song of 2017, and also gave shoutouts to Touch Sensitive, DZ Deathrays, Young Thug, and Jamiroquai in their shortlist.

Brits alt-j tipped The xx, Marika Hackman, Father John Misty and Lil Uzi Vert, and Gang of Youths’ frontman Dave Le’aupepe picked tracks from Paul Kelly, Julien Baker, Baker Boy, and Camp Cope.

Of course, if 100 Warm Tunas is to be believed, we already have a fairly good idea of who is going to top the countdown when January 27 rolls around. The prediction site is already tipping Kendrick Lamar to take out the top spot with his track ‘HUMBLE.’, while Gang of Youths are looking to have a big year with multiple tracks — ‘Let Me Down Easy’, ‘The Deepest Sighs, The Frankest Shadows’, ‘What Can I Do If The Fire Goes Out’ — anticipated to make the top ten.

Check out the full prediction list here, and scope the artist’s selections below.
