The festival had been set for the end of November and beginning of December, hitting Brisbane on 30 November, Sydney on 1 December and Melbourne the next day. It also had plans to head to Auckland.

Hardware and Onelove had partnered with one of the world’s top live event companies, Live Nation, to launch Festival X.

“We’ve got awesome musical artists, stage designers and builders responsible for some of the most spectacular looking stage designs at Electric Daisy Carnival, ID&T etc,” Hardware’s Richie McNeill had said when launching the new music festival. “It’s the start of summer and a great time to celebrate end of exams, holidays coming and listen to some loud, awesome music.”
