Donald Glover’s anthology series Atlanta has frequented top TV lists since it first aired in 2016, and after three years off the air, Atlanta is back with a spooky trailer.

It’s hard to comprehend, but the last time Atlanta was on our screens, the pandemic was two years away. May 2018 was when Season 2 of the cult series aired, including one of the strangest episodes of TV ever made.

But after three years, Atlanta is back. Well, coming back. Yesterday, Donald Glover dropped a link to a mysterious website called Gilga, tweeting the link with the caption, ‘happy halloween.’

Clicking the link led you to a page that showed your location and played the trailer. To make things all the more spooky, the trailer is only viewable via Gilga at night.

The trailer itself kicks off to the tune of ‘It’s After the End of the World,’ by Sun Ra, as various deserted locations are shown in quick succession. The final shot is a close-up of Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry). You can view the trailer below.

While a third and fourth season of the hit series was ordered back in 2018, shooting of the third season was delayed due to COVID-19. The third season was shot in early 2021.

An exact air date for Atlanta‘s third season has not yet been set. However, the haunting trailer promises a 2022 release. In Australia, the series was available on SBS On Demand but is only currently streaming via Binge and Foxtel Now.
