Fresh off the back of a brand new recut of the fairly mediocre season four, Netflix has unveiled the very first trailer for Arrested Development season five. And, in the words of Tobias, “I just blue myself for the first time in five years”.
Based on the clip, it looks like season five will focus on a pair of elections. Lindsay is running for Congress, while the rest of the clan make a play for “Family of the Year”. Creator Mitchell Hurwitz previously implied that this run of episodes will be partially inspired by the rise of Donald Trump. Which maybe explains all the wigs.
In any case, we won’t have to speculate for long. Netflix has also confirmed that the release date for season five is less than a month away. Set aside May 29 in your calendars, folks. There’s a binging to be hand.
