Did you know Antonio Banderas was starring in a movie about robots? I didn’t know Antonio Banderas was starring in a movie about robots. But, as it turns out, Antonio Banderas is starring in a movie about robots; it’s called Automata, the trailer just dropped, and I have a new favourite movie to wait for.
Set in a dystopic, environmentally-blasted future, Automata follows Banderas’ Jacq, an insurance agent for a robotics company, as he investigates cases of robots manipulating themselves in defiance of their programming. As he tracks a small group of rogue robots who have gained sentience, shit gets both existentially and blow-stuff-up real.
Besides all that, it looks fucking cool.

Bonus: Jacq’s wife is the same actress who plays Katrine Fønsmark in Borgen, so this thing is definitely going to be good.
