The coronavirus pandemic is scary and disruptive. Events around the country are shutting down. The Prime Minister is on the television, giving a national address. The normal way of doing things has changed.

During such times of emergency, it’s easy to feel lost and scared. If you get the coronavirus, there’s a high chance that you will show no symptoms at all — but even still, it’s easy to get lost in the surplus of bad news.

Which is precisely why we need to focus on the rays of light, like Amy Shark offering her home to, uh, Tom Hanks.

See, Hanks tested positive for coronavirus yesterday, along with his wife, Rita Wilson. The pair of them were in the Gold Coast, where Hanks was shooting an Elvis biopic with Baz Luhrmann. The announcement that Hanks was ill caused some concern amongst the actor’s fans. He’s posted that he’s feeling largely fine, but is remaining in quarantine just to be safe.

Which is where Amy Shark comes in.

“Hey Tom Hanks,” Shark tweeted. “I am away but I have a house on the Gold Coast you can borrow for 14 days of isolation. Leave your germs everywhere I don’t care. Netflix n wifi password on kitchen bench.”

Truly wonderful.
