8 Things You Need To Prepare For Winter On Campus
We're talking oversized everything.
Brace yourselves uni students, because the season of rain, wind and chilly weather is nearly upon us.
Yes, getting up for uni will be so much harder. Yes, your consumption of hot chocolate will increase by 100 per cent.
Without further ado, here are our top eight must-haves for surviving uni over these upcoming chilly months.
#1 Oversized Everything
Hoodies, cardigans, “mom” jeans, you name it! If your wardrobe isn’t stuffed with oversized clothing to get you through those chilly days at uni then what are you waiting for? You’ll be at the height of comfort, and will nail that effortless and laidback style. It’s a win-win!
#2 Netflix
An essential for those wintery days or evenings off uni, Netflix will become your best pal during the colder months this year. With endless viewing possibilities and genres, Netflix has got your back no matter what you choose (though if you aren’t watching Wild Wild Country right now I’d highly suggest you jump on the bandwagon!).
#3 Keep Cups
Coffee is a no brainer for wintery weather, so why not drink it in style? You’ll be keeping it eco-friendly by using one of these bad boys to curb your caffeine cravings, and with its customisable colours and patterns, you’ll have the most Instagram-worthy cup on campus.
#4 Headphones
No matter how grey it may seem outside, music will be sure to lift your mood. Whether walking to class, using the bus, or playing it cool as you run to your car in the pouring rain, you’ll be in your own world of tunes. Or if you’re like me, Spice Girls mega-mixes (no shame).
#5 Dressing Gown
It’s safe to say there’s nothing a dressing gown can’t fix. Wear it if you’re cold, sad, had a rough day, are procrastinating. The list goes on.
Pro tip: pair your gown with Ugg boots for maximum comfort (and to feel like you’re wrapped in a doona, who wouldn’t want that?!).
#6 Scarves
Ah the humble scarf, or as I think of it, the foolproof way to really wrap up your outfit (get it?). Layer your scarves up this winter to not only keep warm, but to travel in your own personal blanket to wherever your wintery heart desires.
#7 Umbrella
Perhaps the most practical item on the list, a trusty umbrella will never go astray on a rainy winter’s day. It’ll not only help keep your hair looking fresh and put-together, but it’ll save you that embarrassing sprint from class to class in the downpour!
#8 Meal Prep
What better time to embrace meal prepping than in winter? Not only is it a super cheap option compared to those expensive uni lunches, but after a short wait in the line for the microwave you’ll have a warm and delicious meal ready for you to enjoy. Delish!
