14 Things Lady Gaga Just Told The World About ARTPOP
She answered all your pressing questions about her upcoming album on Twitter. We learnt soooo much.
In case you weren’t aware, Lady Gaga’s new album ARTPOP is officially due out on November 8. “Aaargh!” says the whole world, either out of excitement or disgust. Either way, the whole world says “Aaargh!”, I promise. Whichever side of that fence you live on, it never hurts to be informed about things, because “knowledge is power” as 16th-century philosopher Francis Bacon said, even knowledge about Lady Gaga albums, I guess.
Gaga’s been dropping hints about the album all over the internet lately, including during a hectic 30-minute ARTPOP Q&A on Twitter yesterday, where she revealed that she’ll be leaking song lyrics from it every day until its release date and that the album may even have a sequel or two (great?). Here are a few things we’ve learned about ARTPOP so far…
–
1. The foiling on her cover art is “beautiful”:
“It is impossible to photograph and do it justice but wow the foiling is beautiful! In person it is so special,” says Lady Gaga. I don’t know, it just looks like a CD to me. Do people still buy those things? Is it 1998 again? Cool CD, Lady Gaga.
–
2. It’s gonna sound like Rage Against The Machine or something:
3. There are 16, no, 15 songs on the album
4. One of those songs is about cannabis:
–
5. The song ‘Dope’ is also possibly about druuuugs, man
How many different types of handwriting does Lady Gaga have? Does she have handwriting slaves? Probably.
–
6. I don’t know, this is just an excellent question:
WHY BALLADS? WHY?
–
7. ARTPOP is what happens when ‘art’ meets ‘pop’
–
8. I don’t know, this is another good question:
Also, pretentious.
–
9. 12 seconds of her new song sounds like 12 seconds of a new song
Yeah, I can’t tell if that’s good or not. Can we have at least another 8 seconds, please?
–
10. Everybody’s hungry:
–
11. R. Kelly is on ARTPOP, and he sounds incredible:
–
12. ARTPOP is an explosion of art fantasy, rage and eros:
–
13. Lady Gaga’s sanskrit is a small dot (this may or may not be a euphemism):
14. I don’t know, this is just a super sad string of tweets:
–
And on that note, cue your excitement. Or disgust, whatever. Aaargh!
