Anyone who’s ever meal-prepped (hi, hello) will tell you that leftovers are a gift. Even better are leftovers that taste better the day after they’re cooked. And we’re here to let you in on a little secret – my friends, lamb is one of those magical ingredients that makes for the absolute best leftovers.

Think about it –you can whip up a quick and easy meal with lamb, it’s available year-round, and you can use it in pretty much any kind of dish and pair it with almost every flavour.Which makes it the perfect choice if you’re cooking a dish for friends or something for yourself, and some would even declare that lamb tastes just as good for leftovers as it does the night it’s cooked.

On the scale of “microwave meals” to “magical culinary experience”, lamb is the head wizard. There’s a reason it’s our national dish.

The folks over at Australian Lamb want to make it even easier to whip up mouth-watering creations that will last you for days, so they’re giving you the chance to win a huge cooking prize pack, which includes an apron, cap, t-shirt, drink bottle, recipe book, and a $250 lamb meat tray.

The winning recipe will also be featured on the Australian Lamb website and social channels.

All you have to do to win is tell us, in 25 words or less, what’s your favourite way to use your lamb leftovers and why?

Think about everything you could do with all that lamb. You could cook a stir fry for you and your BFFs to devour on movie night, or impress your parents with your lamb roast skills (just don’t admit how easy it was for you to cook). We don’t want to put words in your mouth, but there’s literally so much you can cook with lamb that we’re not in any danger of giving all the best ideas away.

Perhaps the best thing about our national dish is that your meals don’t even have to be crazy – lamb tastes good in even the most simple dishes (thank god).

The competition ends on 8th May so get cooking and wow everyone with your leftover lamb lunches.
