Over the years, Yours & Owls has quietly evolved into one of the most exciting and ever-surprising festivals in the Australian musical landscape.
Finding a niche all of its own, the Wollongong based event doesn’t try to compete with the mainstream heavy hitters like Bluesfest or Splendour In The Grass, instead keeping things intimate and weird.
After all, at what other festival can you wonder over from a set by Canadian alt-crooner Destroyer to homegrown Australian heroes and thrashlords Tropical Fuck Storm, as you could at the 2018 iteration of the festival? Sonic diversity isn’t something that the organisers fear — it’s something that they actively embrace, producing some of the most unique lineups of the year in the process.
Well, looks like their proclivity for difference hasn’t faded one iota this year; the 2019 lineup is as stacked and downright unpredictable as any punter could ever hope to expect.
