Tyler, The Creator Is Returning To Australia To Headline A Brand New Festival
Wildlands is coming - and so is Skepta, RÜFÜS DU SOL and Ella Mai.
Tyler, The Creator is returning to Australia for the first time since his 2015 tour was controversially cancelled — and better yet, he’s headlining Wildlands, a massive new Brisbane festival from the team behind Beyond The Valley and Origin Fields.
Tyler’s return has long been anticipated; since 2015, he’s released two of his most acclaimed records, Flower Boy and IGOR — the latter’s one of our picks for 2019’s best albums so far. He was last slated to tour in 2015 but decided to cancel after activist group Collective Shout asked then-Immigration Minister Peter Dutton to rescind his visa over misogynistic lyrics.
Held on December 28 at Brisbane Showgrounds, Tyler will be joined by previously announced headliners and homegrown heroes RÜFÜS DU SOL. The genre-fluid line-up mixes innovative rap and electronic acts from across the globe, boasting the likes of UK grime legend Skepta, drip star Gunna, poet-rapper Hobo Johnson and dance kings RL Grime and What So Not.
Also on the line-up is ‘Boo’d Up’ singer Ella Mai, JAUZ, Mallrat, Lion Babe and Green Velvet. The full line-up is below.
Wildlands is 18+, and pre-sale tickets are on sale Tuesday, August 6 for $129, with general public tickets on sale Wednesday 7 August for $139. You can sign up for pre-sale here.
