While You Were Sleeping, Zooey Deschanel Did NOT Bomb Boston
Here are some things that happened over the weekend. Featuring Pharrell's first performance of 'Get Lucky', an Arya Stark flash mob, and a falsely-accused set of bangs.

Whoop-De-Doo:
Daily Show contributor John Oliver — set to become the program’s temporary host in June, when Jon Stewart leaves to direct his first film — was in Australia a few weeks back, filming a few segments on gun control for the show. And discovering our racism. “Australia turns out to be a sensational place, albeit one of the most comfortably racist places I’ve ever been in,” he told his podcast, The Bugle. “They’ve really settled into their intolerance like an old resentful slipper.”
But at least we’ve gotten something right. And that something, weirdly, is related to former Prime Minister John Howard. While here, Oliver met with Mr. Howard to investigate the “myth” of gun control laws — which, when implemented in Australia after the Port Arthur massacres in 1996, reduced gun massacres from an average of one a year to zero, and gun-related homocide by 50-60%.
In the segment, Oliver brings his findings back to gun lobbyist Phillip van Cleave, who manages to talk himself into a totally hilarious hole.
Zooey Deschanel Was Not The Boston Bomber:
Of all the false reportage surrounding the tragedy in Boston, this was certainly the most harmless:

The captioning error came courtesy of a Fox News affiliate, Fox 4 Dallas-Fort Worth, and was Tweeted by a viewer to Zooey Deschanel, who RT’d with a “Whoa! Epic closed captioning FAIL!” — before joining the long, long line of falsely accused. (via HuffPo)

Arya Stark Flash Mob:
Here’s a clip of Game Of Thrones actress Maisie Williams and her dance class in a flash mob a year ago. Do with it what you will.

Pharrell Williams Milks ‘Get Lucky’ For All It’s Worth:
At an HTC One launch party in Brooklyn over the weekend, Pharrell Williams sung over the top of his parts of Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’. And then he did it again. And then again. “Don’t worry, you can leave if you want to leave, I just need to do it,” he says, before launching into the now-ubiquitous track for the third time. “This is my first time doing the song.”
He was pretty good at it by the end, but this whole thing is getting way out of hand. (via Consequence Of Sound)
