In truly tear-jerking news, Fast and the Furious star Vin Diesel walked Paul Walker’s daughter, Meadow, down the aisle in place of her late father.

In an interview that was published in Vogue over the weekend, Meadow Walker revealed that she married actor Louis Thornton-Allan in the Dominican Republic earlier this month in a “very intimate celebration”.

“The pandemic impacted our plans,” she told Vogue. “Louis’ family wasn’t able to attend. A lot of close friends who we consider family were also unable to attend due to travel restrictions.”

“We couldn’t have imagined it to be any more perfect and personal– and honestly it was easy and simple,” Meadow continued. “Louis and I knew exactly what we wanted from the start. It was a very intimate celebration.”

Yet, despite the celebration being intimate, Vin Diesel was in attendance for the nuptials and happily walked Meadow down the aisle — proving that the Fast and Furious “I Got Family” meme is very real.

But Diesel’s role in the wedding is not that surprising when you look back at his history with Paul Walker.

After working together on the first seven Fast films, Diesel and Walker naturally became more than co-workers. In fact, the pair became such good friends over the decade they worked together playing Brian O’Conner and Dom Torrreto that Walker made Diesel his daughter’s godfather.

Sadly, Walker died in 2013 after a car crash that left Meadow without a father at age 15. But Diesel has remained close to Meadow in the years since Walker’s death and shared that he considers her to be one of his own children.

“[Meadow] takes good care of me… she’s the first person on Father’s Day to wish me Happy Father’s Day,” Diesel told Extra earlier this year. “To see her with my children is one of the most beautiful things.”

“There are moments when I see her playing with [Diesel’s daughter] Pauline and it hits me so deep ‘cause I can only imagine what my brother sees when he sees that… I feel very protective. It goes beyond the movie.”
