Last night, Queensland and New South Wales came together to hurl their bodies at each other in the annual grudge match that is the NRL’s State of Origin.

The NSW Blues completely crushed the Queensland Maroons, wiping them off the field with a 50 to 6 scoreline — one of the biggest losses in Origin history. But it wasn’t all bad for the four X state, as The Veronicas were on hand to deliver the pre-show entertainment.

The duo, dressed appropriately in sparkly red and blue body suits, tore through the title track of their recent album GODZILLA, before diving back into old favourites like ‘4ever’ (with a special guest verse from Narli) and the unofficial national anthem ‘Untouched’.

Watch the full performance below.

The duo dropped GODZILLA a couple of weeks ago, and will release another album, HUMAN, on June 25. They’re currently appearing on Nine’s Celebrity Apprentice, although they don’t seem to be having a good time — over the last few weeks they’ve repeatedly called out the show for “selectively editing” them. Last week they released a blistering statement directed at the producers, accusing them of “disgusting” manipulative tactics.
