Surprise! ‘Veronica Mars’ Season Four Is Arriving On Stan Tonight

Stan made the surprise announcement that all eight episodes of Veronica Mars season four will premiere early on its service tonight, the same day as the US.

During today’s Veronica Mars panel at Comic-Con in San Diego, the show’s cast and crew made the surprise announcement that season four of the much-loved no-longer-teen mystery drama was dropping in the US right then and there.

Starring Kristen Bell as Veronica, Veronica Mars enjoyed a cult following during its original run from 2004 to 2007.

The highly anticipated new season wasn’t expected to arrive until July 26, with the Australian release scheduled for July 27. However, in an unexpected Christmas in July present to marshmallows everywhere, it’s now dropping a week early — in both the US and Australia.

Stan announced this morning that all eight episodes of Veronica Mars season four will drop on it service at 6:00PM tonight in Australia, the same day it became available in the US.

When we last saw Veronica five years ago in the 2104 Veronica Mars movie, she left New York to return to her hometown of Neptune and work with her dad Keith Mars (Enrico Colantoni) as a private investigator. Her boyfriend Piz (Chris Lowell) also broke up with her, leaving Veronica free to reignite a relationship with fan-favourite romantic interest Logan Echolls (Jason Dohring).

Personally, I thought this was a huge step backwards for her. I had hoped Veronica would leave Neptune behind and go on to bigger and greater things. I’m also one of the apparent few fans Logan failed to win over across the show’s three seasons and movie. Piz deserved better.

But even I can’t deny that it’s going to be a ton of fun seeing Veronica back in her old stomping grounds, doing what she does best. That is, rooting out secrets, unveiling scandals and annoying like the wind.
