Architects Lead Massive 2020 UNIFY Gathering Lineup
Australia's beloved heavy festival is back.
Each year heavy-music-camping festival Unify Gathering only grows in stature.
After all, the 2019 lineup was one of the biggest in the event’s history, boasting such heavy-hitters as Underoath, Taking Back Sunday, Every Time I Die and Dream On Dreamer. Blending contemporary favourites with stalwarts of the heavy and alternative rock scenes, it seemed genuinely unbeatable — the kind of lineup that only comes around once in a lifetime.
Well, get ready: looks like Unify Gathering have done it again, with a newly-announced 2020 lineup so impressive as to make any self-effacing heavy fan’s head spin.
Leading the lineup is Architects, the British metalcore legends best known for their blend of unforgiving riffs and affecting songwriting.
Right next to them at the top of the poster, there’s The Ghost Inside, a metalcore act long beloved by Aussies.
On the homegrown front, the festival has a bevy of local talent, including Sydney’s Northlane, Polaris, and tremendously-monikered up-and-comers Something Something Explosion, well-known for the rousing tracks they’ve been posting to triple j’s Unearthed.
Tantalisingly, the poster also features that stalwart of any contemporary festival lineup: the enticing ‘and friends’ credit, who’ll apparently be playing alongside Australia’s own Tonight Alive.
Guess we’ll find out exactly who that mysterious tag refers to come January next year.
Unify Gathering 2020 hits Tarwin Lower on January 9 and runs through till January 12. Presale kicks off at 9am this Thursday September 19 — you can sign up ahead of time here. Tickets will go like the hottest of cakes, so those who have had their appetites whet by this announcement should get on it.
