Gloom and despair are coming to Netflix in 2018, with the streaming service releasing the first teaser for A Series of Unfortunate Events season two.

Neil Patrick Harris is back as the villainous Count Olaf, seen below brandishing a pair of extremely large knives. The clip also teases some of the dreadful situations the Baudelaire orphans will find themselves in this season — including falling down an elevator shaft and fleeing from an angry mob.

Season two is based on volumes five through nine of Lemony Snicket’s book series: The Austere AcademyThe Ersatz ElevatorThe Vile VillageThe Hostile Hospital, and The Carnivorous Carnival. Sounds like an absolute barrel of laughs.

A Series of Unfortunate Events season two hits Netflix on March 30.
