If you haven’t yet heard of Tones and I — the young Melbourne-via-Byron busker who’s swiftly becoming a triple j favourite — then you definitely will be well acquainted after this weekend.

The busker was added to the line-up late in the game as the opening triple j Unearthed slot; it’s usually a tough gig, as it kicks off shortly after gates open. But Tones and I’s fans came early — it was easily the biggest crowd for an opening act we’ve ever seen at Splendour, and the set that was one everyone’s lips for the remainder of the day.

She tore through a six-song set, leading the crowd through a massive sing-a-long with her breakout single ‘Johnny Run Away’. She even dropped a cover of Flume and Chet Faker’s ‘Drop The Game’.

She closed with ‘Dance Monkey’, which, as you can see from the footage below, the crowd bloody loved. Get amongst it below, and get ready for the Tones and I world takeover.
