The debate around the link between astrology and personality has been never-ending.
Sure, astrology is founded on the position of the stars and their influence on us, but our personalities couldn’t possibly be affected by the time of year we’re born, right? WRONG.
Despite what very smart astrophysicist may think, I’ve just met far too many evil Geminis and emotional Cancers to not believe that your personality isn’t heavily influenced by your zodiac sign — and it’s a feeling that’s felt around the world by millions.
In recent years, there’s been a surge in interest around zodiac signs, particularly with millennials. Whether it’s been for dating compatibility purposes or to simply revel in the joy of getting read to filth by astrology apps with passive-aggressive push messages like Co-Star, many people believe that there is some truth in it all.
Plus, with the cultural shift of solely using memes to laugh about shared moments to their new use as a vehicle to reveal more and more about ourselves, astrology lends itself perfectly to the subtle self-deprecating drag.
I mean, who hasn’t shared a zodiac meme that both calls out all your best and worst qualities in one chaotic image? With numerous accounts dedicated to astrology memes, and even to specific signs these days, it’s pretty hard to have not.
So amongst millennials and Gen-Z, at least, there’s a pretty good understanding that each sign has their own good and bad qualities.
And now, people are calling out these terrible qualities each sign has with the new slap trend. Using an audio created by @zupku, the sound was originally used to poke fun at situations where you wish you could slap certain people or things.
For example, those little kids who get dressed up as a mini-Donald Trump for Halloween, or the person you’re cuddling with when they accidentally grab your belly fat as you’re napping together. Just the little things.
But somewhere along the line, people begun using the slap trend to call out how each zodiac sign would react to getting slapped, highlighting their worst traits.
Naturally for Cancers, this meant crying even though the slap never even happened, probably because we get upset that someone was even thinking about doing that to us.
Similarly, Pisces, also a water sign, got called out for their biggest flaw too: caring too much about others and not enough about themselves.
Meanwhile, Virgos were labelled as know-it-alls like they all tend to be, and Libras were simply portrayed as mean and angry, which is pretty spot on for anyone who has ever met one.
Sagittarius’ in the trend hilariously tried to claim that they would be ~unbothered~ by the slap because they’re “unproblematic”, but the other signs knew this narrative just further confirmed that they’re all sociopaths.
In a change of pace, everyone just agreed that Leos and Scorpios were all just freaky lil’ hornbags, who would just enjoy the slap more than they should.
And for the rest of the zodiac signs, Capricorns got called out for just being so damn mean, Aries for being aggressive as hell, and Taurus’ and Aquarius’ for being totally numb inside and never feeling anything at all.
Geminis, arguably the worst sign of all, however were totally skipped by the trend. Probably because whoever made a TikTok about them knew that they would’ve been hexed by all demons Geminis who felt offended by the silly joke.
