Netflix has unveiled the trailer for Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness, their latest true crime documentary series. And centring on Joe Exotic — a mulleted queer country singer, polygamist and magician who runs an Oklahoma zoo filled with big cats — it’s got enough batshit ingredients to colour anyone intrigued.

Directed by documentarian Rebecca Chaiklin and conservationist Eric Goode, Tiger King dives deep into the weird, dangerous world of shady big cat enthusiasts.

Joe Exotic is currently serving 22 years in prison, as of January, for the attempted murder via assassin of Carole Baskin, an animal rights activist who attempted to shut down his zoo. Over seven parts, Tiger King covers Exotic’s life in up-close detail, following Exotic and a cast of drug dealers and cult leaders.

Exotic also ran for President in 2016. In his campaign video, he spelled out his qualifications: “I am gay. I’ve had two boyfriends most of my life. I currently got legally married ― thank God it’s finally legal in America. I’ve had some kinky sex. I’ve tried drugs through the younger years of my life. I’m broke as sh*t.”

Add in an assassination attempt, some animal cruelty in the name of love and some home-made country music videos about the beauty of tigers and you’ve got a wild ride.

Watch the trailer below. Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness is out March 20.
