Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter Teases Monster Techno Track
This is BIG.
It’s been a long time between drinks for French robot legends Daft Punk.
They haven’t released a full length album since 2013’s Random Access Memories — which spawned tracks like ‘Get Lucky’ and ‘Give Lift Back To Music’, and took home basically every award it was nominated for at the Grammys.
In the years since, the two robots — Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem Christo — have been busy producing tracks for Byron Bay’s Parcels and The Weeknd. Bangalter in particular has been busy, co-producing a few tracks on Arcade Fire’s latest, Everything Now, and scoring a 2017 Latvian film titled Riga (Take 1).
Now, one of Bangalter’s tracks from Riga (Take 1) is getting an official release. Ed Banger Records shared a small snippet of the techno crusher (titled ‘Riga Take 5’) on their Instagram earlier today, adding that it was apparently recorded in a single take.
There’ll be an official vinyl release in Latvia soon — but for now, get around the preview below.
