Watch Thelma Plum & A Bunch Of Her Mates Tear Through ‘Better In Blak’ Tracks
WAAX's Maz, Tia Gostelow, Jesswar, and Patience from The Grates all lend a hand.

Late last month, Thelma Plum corralled a heap of her talented mates together for a special, one-off show at Brisbane’s Old Museum.
She played through a heap of tracks from her acclaimed 2019 album Better In Blak (and some old favourites of course) with help from the likes of Tia Gostelow, Jesswar, Miss Blanks, WAAX’s Maz, and Patience Hodgson from The Grates.
Only a very limited number of tickets were sold (COVID, alas) but triple j has now dropped the whole set on Live At The Wireless as part of NAIDOC Week and Ausmusic Month.
They’ve also uploaded some footage of the gig — including Tia Gostelow guesting on ‘Around Here’, Jesswar tearing through some new verses on ‘Woke Blokes’, and a gut-punching rendition of ‘Better In Blak’. Watch the clips below, and listen to the full set here.
We recently named Plum’s ‘Better In Blak’ as the third greatest Australian song of all time, after Paul Kelly’s ‘How To Make Gravy’ and Kylie Minogue’s ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’. “Plum packaged defiance, grace, and fierce determination in barely three minutes of delicious pop,” we wrote. “It feels like a purr, but it packs an iron punch.”
