Last Friday, famed potato heaters The Wiggles dropped by the triple j studios for their first even run at Like A Version — and, predictably, it was a roaring success.

The current line-up of Wiggles — Anthony Field, Lachlan Gillespie, Simon Pryce, and Emma Watkins — were joined by OG members Murray and Jeff for the occasion, and together they absolutely tore through a sludgy version of Tame Impala’s ‘Elephant’, mixing in some ‘Fruit Salad’ for good measure.

“We wanted to choose something Australian,” revealed Emma Watkins, the yellow Wiggle. “For most of the time that we’ve had the honour of going to The ARIAs, we get to see Tame Impala a lot on stage. We’ve never really met them properly but we thought that we’d like to pay tribute to this amazing Australian band.”

The reaction was piping hot — triple j’s textline was running a million miles an hour, while the cover was picked up by a slew of international publications. At the time of writing, the cover is nearing one million views on YouTube — streets ahead of the mark of most other LAVs. If you haven’t seen it, what the hell are you doing:

Most importantly, it also inspired a shitload of memes. Facebook groups like Sultanaposting were running red hot all day, and Twitter was much the same. So without further mucking around, here were the best memes and reactions to the big event.
