‘The Project’ Mashed Up Aussie Politics With ‘Game Of Thrones’ And It’s Depressingly Accurate

Deceit. Betrayal. Craven self-interest. Yeah, Canberra and King’s Landing have more in common than we might like to think, as a new sketch from the team at The Project makes uncomfortably clear.
Set in an alternative version of Game of Thrones where they even bother to have elections (I guess that’s progress?), the sketch sees a pair of political strategists bickering over the threat posed by White Walkers.
“The White Walkers are wiping out Westeros and plunging our climate into chaos,” exclaims one man.
“They’re a myth!” scoffs the other man. “They’re like vampires or the gender pay gap.”
The problem, according to the Queen, is that voters just don’t care about White Walkers.
“When I’m out there speaking to hard-working Westerosian families, what they’re worried about is jobs, they’re worried about energy bills, they’re worried about marrying most of their cousins,” she declares.
