Watch ‘The Project’ Team Lose Their Shit During A Story About A Politician Named “Dick Braine”

Britain’s far-right UK Independence Party (UKIP) has a new leader with a very unfortunate name. And the team at The Project reacted to the news in the most appropriate way possible: by giggling like a bunch of primary school children.

“Britain’s hard-right UKIP party has just elected a new leader, Richard Brain,” explained host Lisa Wilkinson on Sunday night’s show. “That’s right, a bloke called Dick Brain will lead the party into the post-Brexit era.”

The broadcast then cut to Hamish Macdonald, who struggled to maintain his composure as he read from his teleprompter… which co-host Tommy Little had apparently changed at the last minute in order to make his colleague say the words “dick brain” as many times as possible.

“This was not here before,” Macdonald said.

“Hamish, read the screen,” Little insisted.

“I don’t understand what’s going on, because he doesn’t know how to type or use a keyboard,” said Macdonald of Little’s park.

“Okay, I’ll finish the news,” Little replied. “First name Dick. Second name Braine.”

By this point the entire desk had descended into hysterics.

“Hamish, you’re a serious journalist,” said Little.
