"The Mandalorian" season two is streaming now, only on Disney+
The first season of Disney+’s The Mandalorian was one of the true runaway successes of the streaming age.
A gee-whizz, old school adventure story, the show leant into everything great about Star Wars — memorable characters, simple stories, and themes of heroism and resilience. Oh, and Werner Herzog was there.
Well, less than a year after the first season swept the globe, the second instalment is but a few short months away from hitting Disney+. And to tide you over till the release date, Disney have a little gift — an action-packed trailer, filled with familiar faces, new threats, and iconic locales.
I mean, just watch the thing:
Mostly taking place as a conversation between the titular bounty hunter and a character the trailer’s subtitles acknowledge as ‘The Armorer’, the trailer sets up a clear and precise story arc. This time, The Mandalorian’s not just protecting Baby Yoda — officially known as ‘The Child’. He’s transporting the young green wunderkind to a race of “sorcerers” known as, uh, the Jedi. Ever heard of them?
From there, the trailer is speckled with violence, explosions, and Stormtroopers. Oh, and what definitely appears to resemble a space pirate ship. Sounds good to me.
The second season of The Mandalorian is hitting Disney+ on October 30.
