Tavi Gevinson Is Coming To Australia
She started a fashion blog when she was 11. Now she's 17, and the editor-in-chief of the best teen website around.
Remember when you were eleven years old, and you started taking photos of your op shop finds and putting them on your blog?
And then all of a sudden your blog started attracting close to 30,000 daily views and your dad was like, “whatever it is that you are doing I do not understand” — until you asked him if you could be interviewed by The New York Times and he was like, “okay we need to take this seriously I guess”?
And then you were invited to attend New York and Paris Fashion Week, were commissioned to write for Harper’s Bazaar, and started speaking at marketing conferences?
And you were just 14?
And remember when, tired of just blogging about fashion, you started an online magazine for teenage girls with the help of Ira Glass and Sassy founder Jane Pratt, which was focused more on art and writing? And it was written — for the most part — by teenage girls, but featured guest contributors like Miranda July, Lena Dunham, Paul Rudd, Judd Apatow and Jon Hamm?
And it also featured this great section called Ask A Grown Man?

Everyone’s favourite now-17-year-old blogger, Tavi Gevinson, is heading to Australia next month, to deliver a keynote speech at the Sydney Opera House for Ideas at the House, and to speak at Melbourne Writers’ Festival.
You have wasted your youth. I am sorry.
