Amazon Studios has released the first full length trailer for Luca Guadagnino’s remake of cult horror film Suspiria. And if you had any plans for today that didn’t involve curling up into a ball and rocking backwards and forwards on the floor, you might want to cancel them.

Following the basic premise of the 1977 original, Suspiria is about a young American woman (Dakota Johnson) who finds herself neck deep in supernatural fuckery while studying at a dance academy in Europe. The new trailer teases this concept, while bombarding viewers with a bunch of unsettling imagery including spooky hallways, creepy girls hiding in closets, secret doors, and Tilda Swinton smoking a cigarette while clearly plotting to murder someone.

Terrifying.

It also teases some of the brutal violence the movie is said to contain. Movie industry insiders got to see some early footage back in April, including a scene in which, according to IndieWire, “Johnson’s dancing … controls another dancer’s movements in a separate room.

“With each twist and turn, the girl in the other room is flung up against the mirrors. During her performance, the other student sustains broken bones, feels her jaw burst through her lip, and soaks the floor with drool and urine. When [Johnson] swipes her wrists across each other, the girl’s legs bend back at unnatural angles. She is in agony, reduced to a knot convulsing on the floor.”

So that sounds fun.

Suspiria hits cinemas in Australia on November 8.
