Watch This Liberal MP Get Caught Taking A Selfie When He’s Meant To Be On TV
Australia, meet your Assistant Treasurer.
You know that moment when you’re taking a selfie, only to look up and realise someone was watching? Australia’s Assistant Treasurer Stuart Robert had one of those moments today, except it was live on Sky News (where up to tens of people may have been watching).
Earlier today, Sky News crossed live to Robert to start an interview. As the host started asking questions, Robert was pictured first taking a selfie, then having a bit of a chuckle to himself as he sits alone in the Sky News studio. There’s a good ten seconds of this before he looks up, and you can see a small glint of panic in his eye as he realises he’s been doing all this live on TV.

That’s not even the only mistake he made in the interview — he also got mixed up and confused debt and deficit, which are totally different things. As a result, he underquoted the amount of money Australia owes by hundreds of billions of dollars. Nice one.
Australia, meet your assistant Treasurer: the guy Scott Morrison just put in charge of cleaning up financial sector misconduct.
