All Of The Funniest Reactions To The ‘Star Wars: Rise Of The Skywalker’ Trailer
Memes! Memes everywhere!
Star Wars! It’s good as hell!
I mean, this entire article could begin and end with that lede, to be honest. Star Wars is the pure carnival of the cinematic landscape — a cavalcade of fun and lights and lightsabers and characters finely-tuned to make you happy.
It is an example of the art of the moving image at its most escapist; at its most powerfully ambitious, epic and relatable. That old line that sci-fi movies are our new Greek myths might be kinda dull, but in the case of Star Wars it makes perfect sense. These are massive stories, enchanting and exciting enough that you want to dedicate your whole goddamn life to them.
Anyway, because sometimes life is good, and good things happen, a new Star Wars film is coming out this very year. Titled Rise Of The Skywalker, it sees old hand J.J. Abrams return to the director’s chair, drawing a saga to an end (at least for now.)
We’ve been drip-fed a tiny bit of Rise Of The Skywalker content over the last few months. But now we’ve been blessed with a wave of images and factoids in the form of a nail-biting, genuinely moving final trailer.
The final tease for the film is so good, in fact, that the internet has decided is perfect fodder for memes.

In fact, many of the memes have become mashing up Star Wars lore with older memes, stuffing joke into joke like a kind of comedic turducken.
kylo: what do you have
rey [with stabby gusto]: A KNIFE https://t.co/pZWcM8M7CU

Also, because this is Star Wars, many of the memes involve everyone’s favourite gungan — Jar-Jar Binks.

And hey, even John Boyega — Finn himself — has decided to get into the action, sharing a little meme all of his own.

Let’s hope that we keep getting a steady stream of these ahead of the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker on December 19.
